Search for films with Queen Elizabeth II
UNICA received the following e-mail:
Dear Sir/Madam
I am a Producer in the Documentaries Department at the BBC in London. I am writing in the hope that you can help me. I am currently working on a special hour long documentary for BBC1 which will be made in time for Queen Elizabeth's golden jubilee celebrations in 2002. In it, we will focus entirely on the special connection between the Queen and the public.
We are hoping to feature a great deal of original archive material of the Queen in the programme and we are particularly keen to use images filmed by the public themselves.
I am keen to know whether any of your members have any footage which features the Queen. From 1940's cine-film to modern day home movie tapes, this footage might be scenes from a grand royal ceremony or images of her majesty visiting a town, greeting crowds or simply touring a workplace.
In addition to finding unique images, we would also like to hear from people who have personal recollections of meeting the Queen in person. Perhaps some of your members have vivid memories of meeting the Queen during a public or private engagement and would be willing to share their memories of the occasion with me?
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this project further with you. You can contact me at the following email address mark.roberts@bbc.co.uk or on the following telephone number + 44 208 752 6581. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours truly
Mark Roberts
